*********OFF TOPIC**********

Actually, D'Arcy WAS guilty of both, at the beginning. (As was Elizabeth herself, as she admits.) Initially, he snooted Elizabeth and her family. And not even falling in love with her entirely cured him. Remember the marriage proposal, which she refused with indignation? ("I am lowering myself by offering to marry you" - or something along those lines.) But her rejection of him made him realize what a prig he was being. He changed -- but of course she was slow to notice (which provides the drama). Ah, I loved that book... :-))

And Lawrence Olivier made a gorgeous D'Arcy...
