I think, uhm, oooh ouch that hurts oooh I think Alex's orig context was "cognitive lacunae". I picture that as gaps, holes, missing minutes in the tapes, brought about by any number of reasons having the same effect.

I think for me, my harddrive filled about ten years ago, and badly needs scandisk and defrag run, but was installed without them, or they have rusted shut.

I think a decade of steroids and stress seized up half or more of the active flexibility in my brain. And cognitive lacunae, or acid holes in cloth, or Ethiopian flatbread I can't remember the effing name of even though I eat it often, is what it looks like in there, my head, to the sub-bub-mariners of The Fantastic Voyage.

Outside of that, I have no idea what we're talking about and oops - operation just timed out.
