Goodboy and all, The diva call was clearly to give the bondholders some reason to feel better than they know deep down they should. The part about seac being delayed was the only competitive point that rang true to me. I checked with sfa and the ccur mh was hooked up to the sfa headend at the show, so the bs about having the only headend at the show as diva claimed was hollow. And it intrigues me that the merrill guy and the bond owners haven't figured out that if diva can make money (their assumption, not mine) on half the revenues then the msos can mint money and will roll out faster than anyone believes. The key point remains that the usage by the customer is there, and I believe the diva guy even suggested, although did not follow up with data, that penetration rates are higher than the assumptions of 10% if customers are offered the chance to buy ivod only along with the basic package. (At least that's the way I heard it -- but then I believe that will be the case based on the people i know and have talked to about their movie viewing habits, cable packages, etc.)

Based on the lack of questions, I would say that almost no one was listening to the original call. The merrill guy jumped in with a nonsensical query only after it beecame apparent that no one cared. I actually wish merrill would file an ipo for diva, so that they could educate the street about the ivod issue!
