Sorry for rambling here, but I just fell over another IMO "mis-internet-objective" site on its way: MLRE Millionaire.com

EBAY works fine for blue collar John Smith - He's able to trade the 35 years old barbie and get a good price - Or aunt Anna's old rocking chair. - Jens Tingleff is able to buy some great gem-stones to have nice custom jewelry made for his wife.

There are millions of John Smith and Jens Tingleff out here.

Now millionaire.com want Rockefellar to buy fine cigars and participate in high value goods auctions via the web - Hm...

Now where is the volume? - Not that many millionaires out here -
(I suppose they want to be seen at "Christies" too.)

Watch out for the Packard-effect - If a "thing" is available for both "rich" and "poor", neither want it.!!!!!!!!!!!!

latest news of MLRE:
biz.yahoo.com
The prerelease of the web-site:

Thanks, Jens. Nice picture of E-commerce: >>>The areas that will work IMO are:
Books - Music - Watches - Computers and computer accesories - Software - Certain types of art, like posters - fancy jewelry - some furniture, like closets and drawer-closets - Brand Sports equipment - Brand household equipment. - Slimming nutritionals - All typical mail-order things. Less typical mail-order, but often telephone ordered are Tickets and Travel.
<<<

Breaking this down and extrapolating:
Books = AMZN, BAMM, BKS, etc. . . Watch specialty stores [Childrens books, Paperbacks only, Audio Bookclub, has anyone bought CRWN from bankruptcy?]

Music = NTKI, CDNW, etc. Watch Bands selling direct to consumers. Also keep an eye on Major labels as they struggle to play catch up.

Computers = MALL, etc. Watch Office Depot as major player. Watch Radio Shack to make I-net inroads. Also watch Best Buy.

Software = BAMM, etc. Watch Media Play and Best Buy.

Poster Art, etc. = Watch Spencer Gifts.

Fancy Jewelry = SME where are you?

Furniture, household = SME again, SEARS, JCPenney?

Sports equip. = Watch Big 5, Oshmans, etc.

Nutritionals = Watch Nature's Bounty, GNC, etc.

Question: What else do we as consumers or small businesses have to DRIVE to certain stores to buy???

Any trip seen as drudgery, is good candidate for seeing sales improvement via internet.

We should keep thinking about companies and markets that have NOT come online. THIS is where the future gold mines lie.
