Why would they bother?

The Iraq thing is a non-event in gold terms. Its just somebody having a fireworks display in the middle of a godforsaken desert.

If there was any possibility of a significant interruption in the flow of oil from the Mideast maybe we'd see some activity in POG. Or if Mr.Hussein started tossing poison gas around. Or if the Russians sprang to his defense (ha!).

But this is just some minor butt-kicking and POG almost never pays attention to regional conflicts.
