While they have nothing to do with the "superior" architecture of NT, there are some obstacles to the adoption of Linux as an NT alternative in some markets. They have more to do with the inability to get support for critical problems (you can't call Linus at home, and RedHat, Debian & co. are invisible pipsqueaks to a corporate IT manager), and the fragmentation within the Linux community...not all distributions run all binaries equally well. This problem has haunted Unix since it first crawled out of the primordial ooze of Bell Labs. It has a chilling effect on commercial software development, and you can't do everything in the world with free software (at least, not yet).

But the Linux community is trying to address all these problems. Give them time.
