Here is a history of Microsoft stock splits. Split prices have varied between 97 and 155, with the last 3 2-1 splits happening at 97, 152 and 155.

Don't know how true this is, but I've heard Bill Gates never wants to see "his" stock trade under $60 /share. So, if there's any truth to this we'll probably have to see share price appreciate quite a bit from here, say 20 pts or so. If memory serves, previous split announcements have occured around the $150 to $160 level.

Not true. Last split announcement actually occured in the 130s and stock rose about $30 afterwards before splitting.
