When I last saw the Libertarian Party leader (on 'Politically Incorrect') she launched into some kind of crazy conspiracy theory right off the first mark. When Maher (himself a conservative) shut that down as too boring, she didn't have anything coherent to say for the rest of the show.

I think the problem people have with the Libertarian Party is that it seems like a bag of loose nuts and shot bolts. It's the fires-in-all-directions loose cannonry, the wild and feverish look in the eyes, that bothers people. You suspect they couldn't run a Safeway, let alone a country.

A lot of my friends (who don't belong to any political party) seem to think that the Libertarian Party combines the worst of both the Democratic and the Republican Party. I don't necessarily agree with that, but what do you think of it?

I think it combines the best. The Democratic view of social tolerance and civil liberties and the Republican view of lowering taxes and governmental intrusion into our capitalist system. Very consistent philisophically. Less government is best government. In ALL ways, social and fiscal.

Regards, JB

BTW, I agree with you that the GOP is committing political suicide. Unlike you, I don't rejoice in that scenario.
