>>> Perhaps if libertarians didn't believe that the government has no legitimate right to interfere with our free market system (ie. DOJ vs MSFT and numerous other instances), you wouldn't express such vehement opposition to such ideals. <<<

I didn't express vehement opposition to such ideals. Actually, I'm maybe 1/2 Goldwater conservative myself. (The other half believes in some social programs.) What I said is that the Libertarian Party, per se, is going nowhere, and that it's leadership seems to be mostly wild eyed and out of control.

Small 'l' libertarians believe that the government has no business in any private sexual or religious matter. That means not in the schools, that means not being investigated by the government. Small 'l' libertarians believe in free markets but also small business. They will try anything that achieves this.

However, most of the folks here who foolishly think they are libertarians, delight in rolling around in other peoples sexual matters, government investigations of sexual matters, support government-supported prayer in schools, and often are against anti-trust even though the purpose of antitrust is to create more competition and free enterprise. Mostly, they are MSFT suck-ups, power groupies, clinton-haters, and PR spin doctors. They have nothing at all to do with any pure spirit of libertarianism, or any other set of principles of behaviour.
