Bsco, on NASD & HKSE.

My speculation: This can open up another wave of cross border direct investment by individual investors, but probably more HK investors in US stocks than the other way around.

My understanding is that currently, there is no barrier to individual overseas investors setting up E-broker accounts here.

With the ability of investors to access local Websites with almost realtime US stock data, many of the smaller HK investors who have been starved of investment opportunities due to the collapse of the Asian markets may decide to invest over here.

This could conceivably spark off another bull run on US blue chips and high tech stocks. Maybe Nasdaq 2500 by June 1999?

Anyone care to comment and further enlighten on this speculation?

Best,
Steve
