>ML has been bearish on the stock for sometime, so what was said sounds like sour
>grapes.

This is the biggest joke I've seen in a long time. ML said the stock was overvalued at 80, and then at 160, and now they are saying it shouldn't be worth more than 50. So the Amazon bulls say "What an idiot, he said negative things and the stock is now at 280!"

Let me give you a little analogy.

A bunch of teenagers are drag racing towards the edge of a cliff in their flashy sports cars. A grown up on the sidelines shouts: "Guys, give it a rest! The cliff is only 300 feet away!"

They speed up.

The guy (let's call him ML) says "Guys, be reasonable! You've gone 80 feet towards the cliff!"

They speed up.

ML says "Guys, you've gone 290 feet towards the cliff! For the love of god stop!"

The teenagers say "You idiot, you said that 210 feet ago and you were obviously wrong, you are even dumber to keep saying it! Can't you see we're ok??"

The teenagers are then quickly introduced to the laws of gravity.

Interesting, a little positive comment from a known internut sends the stock up 50 and a respected house like ML gets a 12 point drop. Smells like IOMEGA....

Gary-

I'm only asking, but is it possible that ML has had a rather conservative stance on some (or all) of the Internet 'leaders' in the past? Perhaps they don't deserve much attention re: AMZN and the $50 price target. If they say $50 is their target, it's not surprising they hold little sway right now.
