local content? can use the net, or if you want to buy a lampshade locally, get out of your La-Z-Boy chair and grab the yellow pages that are at least 12 feet away and open it to "Lighting". Anyone who cannot do that should not even be allowed near a computer. "L" is before "M" and after "K". Wanna buy a pizza locally? Program your stupid telephone to speed dial your favorite pizza place and make the call. Or if you really want to impress your girlfriend, order it over the internet. Be warned, if you choose the 2nd method, expect her to leave before the pizza arrives. Want entertainment? - Try citysearch.com or sidewalk.com

What 99% of the firms that announce any type of arraingement with portal companies fail to mention is that the portal firm, be it AOL, Yahoo, or whoever, charge money to be on their site. that is the attraction in the mind of the market to being a portal vs. just a web site selling gummy bears in hard to find flavors. Although even the concept of "portal" is seriously flawed as users get to be more proficient in using the net, the stock market as of now doesn't seem to care.
