Paul, I am trying to get an understanding of this as well. Is it correct that the both the 100kg and 250 kg samples were taken from a pair of pits?

thanks - Tom

From the Sept 21 news release:

>>Lakefield Research is processing 500 kg of NW kimberlite representative of the bulk samples taken this spring. Results will augment the microdiamond database on the NW dyke. Kimberlite intersections from the recently-completed holes will also be submitted for microdiamond analyses as will 15 kimberlite dyke intersections obtained during the spring program, mainly from three newly discovered dykes on the east side of Snap Lake.<<

From the June 19 news release:

>>*Note: Average recovered and cleaned grade is for those diamonds that exceed in size an effective square mesh cut-off of approximately 1.2 mm.<<

It's clear you are correct. The 500 kg being tested for microdiamonds must be coming from the 200 tons collected in the bulk sampling program. Those 200 tons have already been combed down to a 1.2 mesh. Looks like the aim is to extrapolate the # of microdiamonds in the entire bulk sample without having to comb through the entire 200 tons.

regards - Tom

Do you think these 2 samples were part of the larger sampling released, or can we expect a release on content >1.2mm for these 2 smaller samples? - denis
