Hi Steve:

Thanks for the new conversion price. Even if the $400M
for 2% of Winstar's capacity represents a 100%
markup, this would still give WCII a $10B value,
which leaves significant room on the upside from here.
Actually, I think we are seeing a new WCOM in the
making with long-distance fiber, last mile wireless
access, and further on the horizon, a worldwide
footprint. If Winstar can pull it off, SW will
need to look no further for the DELL of the next
10 years.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy

Did anyone notice that Sprint decided today that they were going to go the last mile on their own? Any coincidence? Johnson even said on CNBC that everybody could now get some sleep so the negotiations must have been through the night.

I still think that they are leading up to some sort of Intl or Natl ISP play here. It only makes sense to be able to offer END to END internet high speed service to their clients. With all the divisions in the Internet WCII has it makes a lot of sense! I guess we stay tined!

<< The only thing that worries me a little is that she can probably bash the deal saying both companies way over paid for what they got. You know, like I'll buy your car for 25,000 if you buy mine for 20,000, when in reality they're worth 10,000 and 15,000. Steve said something like there is already talked that both sides were marked up by maybe 100%. >>

the recent INTERNEXT/Level 3 deal provides some metrics. McCaw acquired 24 fibers, one empty conduit, and rights to 25 percent of any fibers in any conduits over five along all of LVLT's planned 15,000 mile domestic network for $700M. (c.f. siliconinvestor.com

once we learn how many fibers WCII has acquired we can do comps.
