I believe he offered to resign as speaker elect, not resign from the House.

Sounds like we're desensitizing and legitimizing adultery as something that everyone does, and therefore it's OK. What's more, your more likely to be attacked for being critical of adulterers than the adulterers are themselves. It is truly a sad state of affairs we are in.
