DELL LAUNCH LATEST VERSION OF THEIR PREMIER PAGE SERVICE VIA INTERNET Hi Kemble: New and improved Premier pages for EMEA region and small businesses.How is that for customer service,eh? ====================================(Source:M2 Communications/Fox) DEC 18, 1998, M2 Communications - Dell Computer Corporation, the world's leading direct computer systems company announce the latest version of their Internet Premier Page service for Europe the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Premier Pages are personalised Internet pages which were first introduced to Dell's largest customers last year. The strength behind this proven extranet-based service is that it offers customer's easy access to Dell products for on-line quotations and ordering. Customers receive complete product information on approved standard configurations, and electronic ordering for corporate. purchases based on individual corporate pricing. "Customers have been using Premier Pages for over a year now and throughout this period we have been gathering feedback," comments Joanne Gray, Internet Business Manager for UK and Ireland. "The new features are a result of listening to our customers' needs and proactively responding to them." From today, customers using their Premier Page will benefit from a raft of enhanced features including: flexible page content and layout: simple clear navigation; customisable links (where customers can include links to any other Internet sites required on their Premier Pages) as well as multi-currency features. New features for purchasing include; quote details that can be downloaded electronically or printed; automatic pre-filling of address fields, and multi-currency features (which will include Euro currency options by 1 January 1999 within the "Eurozone"). Premier Page customers also have access to over 53,000 pages of technical information that include self-diagnostic tools and step-by-step troubleshooting solutions. Customers can also review the most frequently asked service and support questions covering CD-ROMS, modems. drives, servers and upgrades. Access to Premier Pages is controlled and managed by the customer. Once the site has been developed customers are given IDs and passwords that will determine access privileges for each level and category of user. Premier Pages support log-in security at three user levels: "Users" can see product details, but can't purchase; "Buyers" have access to purchase details and the 'BUY' button while "Managers" can access all information, including detailed management reports. In addition to these new features, pan-European customers can now have a single page containing their standard, global, configurations and pricing. Dell also announced that they are extending their personalised Premier Pages to high-volume small business customers to help them manage their technology systems more efficiently. Starting today, thousands of small businesses across the region will now receive, via the Internet, the more personalised sales experience formerly reserved for large corporations. Small business customers can now have their own personalised web sites which deliver customised purchase and service options on-line. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These web sites keep track of a customer's purchase history, put them in constant contact with their dedicated sales team, and keep them up to date on all of the latest product announcements and price moves. "Small businesses have limited resources and need to develop ways of managing their systems as efficiently as possible," comments Gray. "Premier Pages provide these growing companies with an easier way to manage their technology while saving them time and money." Sales to small business increased 233 percent during the fiscal year ending 31 Jan 1998. Today 20 per cent of Dell's worldwide revenues come from the Internet making the company a leading player in the development of e-commerce. The third quarter financial results announced this November revealed that European Internet revenues had doubled to $2m a day over the previous quarter and that worldwide Internet revenue had reached $1Om per day. Premier Pages were first offered to EMEA corporate customers in early 1997. Today, more than 1000 Premier Page EMEA customers place paperless, on-line orders and sales in excess of US $100 million per year.
