<<Here in Washington State the Democratic Mayor actually participated in a parade against the war effort while our men and women were dying in battle.>>

Are you talking about the Mayor of Seattle? If so it was before bullets starting flying. The thrust of demonstration was to pull the troops out of the Middle East out of harms way, not to denigrate them . I would agree that political posturing by both parties has been used above clear logic to engage or not engage in military actions since at least the advent of the Vietnam War.

Come on Mike, they just figured out that those old "peace symbols" could be molded into excellent gun sites. Cut 'em some slack will ya ? Afterall they were too busy trying to not-inhale last go-around now in their middleage identity crisis they've found how cathartic it is to wave a flag and smell the naplam.

>>> Charles, were you asleep during the Gulf War? I remember it well.

Well, actually, reading your letter doesn't make me think you do remember it.

>>> Here in Washington State the Democratic Mayor actually participated in a parade against the war effort while our men and women were dying in battle. <<<

I really think that most Democrats exercised their oversight function before the shooting started. When the time got close, everybody lined up.

>>> The hypocrisy of leading Democrats on this issue is irrefutable and undeniably clear.

Whenever you guys get caught at something, you wither and shake and claim the other side are hypocrits and always do the same thing too. Or, that ones own sins are forgivable. Like Livingston and his floozy parade, which is of course perfectly OK with your side. What is constant, reliable and predictable about the ravers on this thread is the tone of moral superiority, but not the 'facts' that would support such a tone.
