Yeah, I do have some familiarity with those ERISA statutes. Now that's something I know how to look up. I think there are some times when my employer has held longer than a "reasonable time" and I'll have to go check it out to see if it's a gray area or a clearcut rule. After I read about 1000 words of statute and a couple hundred pages of clarifying regulations I'm sure I'll come the conclusion that there's no clear answer. That's what we lawyers like--lots of room for disagreement--good for business!! EP
