Hi, gvander,

I for one do appreciate your efforts to provide links to related materials. I appreciate it a lot. Many thanks.

Two questions:

First, what do you think of these "rankings" of the potential li-poly suppliers? I personally have to be skeptical. How can these be regarded as more than pure speculation in light of the secretive nature of the companies involved? There seems to be almost no tangible evidence that would pass the "Visnic test" of verifiability from any of them. That such evidence is absent is understandable from the competitive-secret point of view, but such absence would simultaneously make ranking them merely an exercise in speculation, vulnerable to the hidden agendas of everyone involved from the reporter to the publisher to the companies. Cutting through all this obfuscation is one reason patents are so important to me. Any thoughts?

Second, I too have been long concerned about the size of the market for li-poly batteries -- particularly for laptops. If it is the case that the market is currently small, and will grow relatively slowly even while more li-poly competitors enter, why do you think Valence is continually rumored to be adding to capacity? Are they just crazy, or is there a discernible method to their apparent madness? Any thoughts?

Regards, lws
