I also own a variety of small search engines in my portfolio. There is currently not a major technology edge advantage held by any and like all stocks, some will be more successful than others. It will become more difficult for newcomers to gain significant market share and therefor consolidation of smaller engines with good content and precise search results will I believe constitute the ultimate development of larger more known engines. Currently I like WCTI,GNET,EXGP, and SLEU and I see of these GNET and SLEU with the most mature products and the most potential for consolidation with others as they are somewhat alike. SLEU is creating strategic alliances and overhauling its look from its previous public service image. These alliances at some time will create an opportunity for consolidation with a larger entity. GNET on the other hand is farther along, making good acquisitions and its price reflects this. I am trying to mix higher price mature Internet Engines with the $5-$10 ones to hedge a good average provided the less expensive ones are fully operational. The small engines will get their share of the net traffic and as saturation occurs they will be natural acquisitions. If I can buy some at around $5 as opposed to as much as $200+ I believe I am far ahead of the game.
