I will probably jump back into Dell in mid January but will buy stock not call options. What bothers me is those high "whisper" numbers. They have got to be more realistic like 1 or 2 cents above earnings. If a company expects to report earnings in the range of 1.00, I could see a whisper number of 1.05 (which is 5 % better than expected). However with Dell, they want actual earnings to be 10 to 15 % better than expected. This is what scares me about this stock -- short sellers trying to push these whisper numbers to unbelievable levels.
