Hodgkins, too? Jeez, Louise.

I only take 5 mg a.m. and 5 mg p.m. This is like the Rolls Royce of Prednisone, enough to make me feel better without (almost) not letting me get sick from infections. I want to cut back a little, maybe 2.5 mg in the p.m. or something, need to get one of those pill cutters.

When I finally found a decent rheumatologist in September, he poured a handful of 5 mg pills in my hand, told me to take 4 in the morning and 4 at night, and gave me a schedule for tapering down. Called it "shock therapy." My husband was shocked by the weight gain, urged me to quit taking it, I tried to cut back, taper down, get off it, and finally decided, I don't care if he ever f***s me again, I can't handle the pain anymore and I am not going to. I "capitulated" two weeks ago, and am almost pain free, and much fatter.
