Interesting article.

I agreed with about a half of it. Well, maybe that is being generous.

"The danger from this type of trading arises when the amount of trading escalates beyond normal investment trends."

In an arbitrage market, the level of trading is meaningless as long as it is in balance. If the futures are down, and the related stocks don't follow suit, then someone wil move in quickly to take advantage of the price disparity and bring them in balance. That it happens a lot or a little is immaterial.

Its those kind of statmemntd he made throughout the course of his article that tends to undermine my support for any of it. If one buys into those broad statements, then the arguments follow. But I would seriously question some of the premises he makes.
