I cannot see how any CEO could agree to pay any large sum for Vivus and it's products without any clear sign of turnaround in demand for muse in a few of the markets. So Leland has been offered peanuts. Assuming that Vivus is not going to the wall, it is right that Leland prevaricates while the prospects of Vivus continue to improve. Surely this is the best thing? I agree that if the position of Vivus was becoming absolutely dire then Leland would have had to cut a deal by now. DaiS

Frostman, " Partnering discussions are hot and heavy although if things continue to go well and we get our Eurpean approval (and $8 million from ASTRA) we may hold off picking a partner untill we try some educational campaigns in specific areas like Arizona and Florida. If we can drive up prescription we can demand more money from a partner." I have hoped many times that since reading the last line of the above sentence that it is your words and not Nina's/VVUS. However, in the event that it is word for word it shows just how stupid the whole bunch are. Who the hell do they think they are? There the ones with thier/our collective asses to the wall! The only reason I am still here is they have so much potential. If only they could get some smart people in and around to run the damn thing. Still holding out. FWIW
