I think they are trying to put off the inevitable, which is a recession, or worse. By my seat of the pants survey, a lot of small manufacturing co's are have no xmas parties and no xmas bonus this year. That is a serious red flag for the economy, and I see nothing on the horizon that is going to change it. (I view this as the real economy, not this pumped up thing we call the stock market)
