If Dr Jacobs doesn't get convergence, whether that is the chiprate or something else, he's not going to license. If he refuses to license "they" will have to either deploy amidst the certainty of litigation, continue to negotiate or "compromise". I'm not suggesting Q can just say F... You, do it our way or else, but they will not allow themselves to forfeit the competitiveness of IS95 for a standard that buries them and uses their inventions to boot.

I think the logic of the situation is inescapable at this point.Greggg has articulated the argument at least as well as anybody.Despite the one sided portrayals we're treated to almost daily in the press, the alternatives have been placed squarely on the table. Compromise or War. Are GSMers prepared for War? And this is not a rhetorical question, metaphoric though it is..
