DELL and SUN both seem to be profiting while Compaq, as usual, screws up.

I'm not sure what you mean by this - even in a weak quarter, CPQ had server sales about equal to the next two (IBM and HP) combined, had more than 3 times DELL's sales, and more than 6 times SUN's.

DELL has done well to get into the top 5 in unit volumes, but the hard part of the hill is still in front of them. They will need a very coherent strategy in both servers and storage to continue their growth. They will also need to build a services capability without disrupting their business model. These are hard challenges.
