that's why companies that deal with *bits* (information technology)
will grab a larger and larger chunk of the total S&P capitalization.
Companies that deal with *atoms* (sell, provide physical stuff)
will get less and less...

EL...Looks like Merrill got his faced slapped again. I read somewhere that Merrill took a huge hit when Long Term Credit went down and CPQ played into it. I don't understand it but it is in Merrill's interest to see CPQ stock price come down.
