Welcome back, Charlie!
Amen to your diversification advice. There are pains involved in " wishing you had bought more" ....but they are not quite like the pain of owning AXC these last few years.
And Gus is sure right that averaging up brings better odds than averaging down .
But that said...lol.......in my less than a decade investing " career" I am 4-0 thus far on averaging down ( Atec - pretty quick fairly recent trade, Spacehab, Cal Amp and Nichols Lab - both years ago - and AXC is now my fifth attempt.) Probably have just been lucky with the technique, but hope I get lucky again. Would have to get VERY lucky to make this opportunity cost all worthwhile. What an education AXC has been though. Largely thanks to the numerous wonderful posters on this board.
Many small net stocks attempts are duds. And though the interest will likely last for decades, the mania will not. Have to bring something unique to plant when you tiptoe through the tulips. But AXC, potentially, would seem to have some exceptional seeds. So rolling the dice..... wouldn't back up a truck, but maybe a big wheel. ( for the inner child). Hope the last year of the century gives you trash talking rights among your buddies, Charlie.....due to good ol AXC ....
