Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt Cobalt! Yes, I intended it to be phrased in the words befitting persons who might think in such terms. Or something.... Impristine surely knows that....but, I don't know Impristine in any real sense. I don't even know his name, nor is there anything approaching a "real" relationship. As I pondered his response the stark impersonal nature of this media fell on me as it often does. I thought, here I am about to apologize for "offending" someone who is a practitioner of offense...as am I. Someone whose keen intellect is often shrouded by a mocking aloof personna that is strictly terroristic....as is mine. So, I guess to sum it up....it goes with the territory. I'm glad I have "real" relationships with "real" people, the prospects of using "online" communication for anything other than self-aggrandizing "quick fix" recognition is too sad to contemplate. I will be glad when the bombing stops. It troubles me to no end to see these split screen images in "night scope" green, wondering if at any minute I am going to see that charming lady from CNN blown to bits on live TV. And yet, I watch it, perhaps that is the most disturbing part, that I would be so drawn to the drama surrounding the inevitable loss of life originating from a remote location. I can not imagine that any military people are proud of this sort of operation. It is not "battle" it is the senseless taking of lives, and is a base, chickenshit thing to do. So it goes...maybe they will stop this before the weekend is over.
