Re: Political infighting.

The Republican Party is setting a bad precedent. The could take the high road, vote to censure, side with the general public and get back to the work of the people. Instead, I fear, they have raised the level and nastiness of political infighting.

Just look at the level of nastiness on this thread. It's like a mini civil war, with nasty insults being posted over and over again. Posters are at each others throats. Is this a prelude to our future?

Unfortunately, the Republicans are going thru with this extreme and partisan attack against the Presidency.

What really surprises me is their new stand on family values. I can't believe that they gave a standing ovation to Livingston when he admitted having several affairs. The Republican Party prides itself on it's stand for family values. They were the party of family values. I thought that it was a stand that the members could be proud of.

But, they are now saying that cheating on, and betraying your wife and family is acceptable, because they want him for speaker of the house, so that he can represent the Republican Party and it's family values platform.

The Republican Party thinks that the voting public is stupid, and that the Republicans can survive without the women's vote, but they might find out how wrong they are in 2000.
