Brilliant Digital Entertainment, Inc. (AMEX:BDE;http://www.multipathmovies.com), a leading interactive entertainment content and tools developer, today announced an agreement with DVD EXPRESS (http://www.dvdexpress.com), the largest online video retailer, selling both DVD movies and DVD-ROM, to sell Multipath Movie Webisodes and CD-ROM episodes pursuant to a revenue sharing agreement, according to Kevin Bermeister, President of BDE.
Brilliant also announced today that its Multipath technology and content will be displayed on the Mediadome site at mediadome.com. Brilliant Digital's Multipath Movie products will be featured on the Mediadome home page as a showcase technology. Mediadome is owned and operated by the Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC).
Brilliant Digital's 3-D, digitally animated interactive entertainment products, which are based on licensed properties such as Ace Ventura, Popeye, Xena, and The Choose Your Own Nightmare Series as well as internally developed titles, Cyberswine and Gravity Angels, will be offered for sale and trial on a new DVD EXPRESS home entertainment content site launching in January. Viewers will be able to view trial Webisodes, order Brilliant Digital Multipath Movie CD-ROMs (shipped by mail) and purchase, download and view shorter-duration Multipath Movie Webisodes directly from that web site, without a CD-ROM.
Brilliant and DVD EXPRESS will also co-produce the first promotional content using Brilliant's proprietary 3-D rendering software tool-set and technology for exclusive use by DVD EXPRESS. Brilliant Digital's Digital Projector(TM), the proprietary software that enables Multipath Movie and Webisode viewing, will be provided free of charge from the DVD EXPRESS web site.
Michael Dubelko, president of DVD EXPRESS, said, "We are pleased to team with Brilliant and be among the first to introduce their Mutlipath Movies and cutting-edge interactive products to our customers and web site visitors. Brilliant's innovative technology brings an exciting new dimension to the computer entertainment experience which is sure to facilitate sales and leave our audience asking for more."
Kevin Bermeister, President of Brilliant Digital, commented, "DVD EXPRESS represents an important new distribution and promotional partner that will further extend visibility and customer access for our 3-D animated, digital interactive products. The relationship also allows BDE to display the benefits of our Multipath technology for advertising and promotion on the Internet. Importantly, home page positioning on Mediadome will also provide significant exposure to our products." About DVD EXPRESS:
