RESEARCH ALERT - SoundView ups Micron views
NEW YORK, Dec 18 (Reuters) - SoundView Technology Group Inc. said Friday that semiconductor analyst Scott Randall raised his earnings (loss) estimates for Micron Technology Inc.

-- trimmed loss estimate for the current quarter to $0.32 per share loss, narrowing it from a previous loss estimate of $0.40 per share.

-- trimmed FY 1999 loss estimate to $0.54 per share from
$0.99.
-- raised FY 2000 earnings estimate to $2.65 from $2.31.
-- shares turned positive in morning trade; now up 5/16 at
53-1/8.
-- rating remains unchanged at buy.

John, Scot Randal pulling the ole mid-day expiration estimate tweak tout - oh absolutely nothing suspicious there. That sudden dive in the last half-hour wasn't suspicious either. MU refusing to give an earnings date earlier in the week, likewise not at all suspicious. The Niles call. The Tuesday options plays...

There certainly have been quite a few events that aren't at all suspicious in the last week.

In fact you just want to wrap a big shiney red bow around MU embossed with the words "nope, nothing suspicious going on here folks" in gold glitter and then pass out the milk and cookies.

Hey, maybe the BOD would approve that as a piece of conceptual artwork whenever they can turn cash flow positive without anteing up chunks of the company to better-run players for more than two quarters in a row <g>
