Thread: Trades and "Specialist" ideas 1. Biotech and trades First of all, I'm out of astm, looking to get back in at $3...but may buy something like UM which looks cheap and quite a bit safer than the micro cap biotechs I've been involved in lately. See my post on the Aastrom thread if interested, I've got to check out the other cheap stocks in the medical devices area this weekend though first. Sold PCOP, once again another smallcap biotech refuses to rally on good news, at least I got $500 out of it, but very disappointing. Now that I'm out I'm sure it will run:-( Added 1000 Sibia Neurosciences to the not-for-trading portion of my portfolio, this section is getting a little crowded, so many trades gone bad, ha ha! The only reason I picked up more of that today was because the spread finally narrowed, a rare treat with sibi, of course the bid just dropped to 3 1/2, hope nobody is doing any serious selling today. Finally, PAIR. This is funny--today I am only connected at 31200bps, so I'm not too enthusiastic about the ability of the level II data to stream across, and to be honest, not to sure I know how to read it anyway. I missed the morning bounce (asthma attack last night, so up before market opened...then slept through the fist two hours, rats!). The one minute chart seems to be poopin' out right now...may wait for weakness this afternoon. Anyway, if I only had ADSL maybe I could trade PAIR, heh heh. Oh one more, regarding Asthma, which is of course of interest to me--Henry N. posted a link to an article over on the Ariad thread. American Home Products and IL-13. WOW! Sounds like blockbuster material. Dumped another third of my losing aria (which I owned for asthma hopes as much as ARGENT/gene regulation). fyi, I also own GMED, which has been weak lately, something for bottomfishers to look at perhaps. 2. Specialist Ideas I cant really offer up to do microcap biotech, (because they are not tradable at this time due to lack of interest by fund managers or somthing)...but I could try and do a post every other day on PAIR--okay? I will have to defer to other's judgements on the charting/stochastics stuff, since I kinda feel that is a lot of hokum. But I think I could put together decent updates a few times a week. Also, I occasionally trade funds--CEF's and Fidelity Select, be happy to post ideas with those too. This is last post til after Christmas, see you all at market open on the 28th! --Mike
