Geoff/ Belair

You might want to address Richard Saunders on this one. I know we have discussed the company and management. (which we felt was very creditable) I believe he is monitoring their activities.

Geoff - kakwa & belair (bgy-ase). The operator is Alberta Energy and they have 95%, BGY has 5%. My understanding is that belair obtained 40% of the prospect when they exchanged equity for Windstar Energy Ltd. As part of overall risk mgmt. BGY then exchanged 35% for some land that AEC had in other areas of Alberta. Supposedly the seismic looked good although the deep well was going to cost $5mil so tho't was that it'd be betting the co. on one well....... not a prudent thing to do. There's some of the bgy story over at another thread #Subject-17677 and the co. has a website at belairenergy.com Recently bgy merged with Granger (was GAS.A, .B & .C) and part of the asset base from that arrangement included 16,600 acres (100%) of land at Tompkins, SW Sask. Granger had a news release on March 5, 1997 re: the "major land purchase". You need to confirm info. but I believe there's been recent drilling on the land and some interesting gas possibilities are being pondered. A negative re: bgy?.......... someday there'll be a share consolidation as currently there's somewhere around 45mil shares f.d. Often rollbacks have a tendency to add a little pain with often associated price slippage. Positive? Currently bgy appears to have over 100K acres of undeveloped land, is very focussed on developing a full-cycle o&g operation and appears to have mgmt. that both is experienced and also appears to have access to dollars. Recognize the bias here - I hold a position. If you've made it this far, here's another "possibly interesting" situation I'm hyping and trying to find out more about. Justinian Explorations (JEL-ase). The "people power" side of the equation is what twigged my attention. I believe a couple of funds (possibly BPI & Sceptre?) have been doing some serious offloading........ Happy hunting & holidays.
