I'll try not to confuse you so much this time. The CBOE posts the VIX daily. cboe.com The VIX is not necessarily a contrary indicator. When the VIX approaches high levels, such as above 35, it usually means the market is near a bottom and is ready to either stabilize or go higher. When the VIX gets to relatively low levels such as around 14-17, it means the market is ready to explode in one direction or the other (not necessarily lower).
