December 18, 1998 - Cisco Systems (CSCO) is preparing to enter the consumer market as part of a strategy to fuel demand for high-margin network equipment. This consumer thrust will move Cisco beyond its current presence in the SOHO router market. Are you ready? Everyone is enamoured with retail on the web, and no one is better armed to pull it off. Cisco is already booking orders over the Internet at a rate of over $20 million per day. Compare that to Amazon.com: every three weeks Cisco sells more on the Net than Amazon sells in a year - plus, Cisco makes money at it while Amazon ships dollars with every order. Robba Benjamin, recently hired from Sprint, is chartered to develop Cisco's consumer line, and partnerships with Sony, Microsoft, Intel, and a number of broadband access providers are already in place. This new thrust for Cisco could open new markets and drive sales into old markets. We're raising our P/E triggers, again. This time we're taking the SELL trigger up to 1,000,000,000 - in line with the P/E ratios of the other "Internet" companies.

Kenneth,

Go back and research that a bit more. Well...perhaps you're OK. Yes, "advised". But why? Go back and evaluate the history there.... then we can chat.
