The y2knewswire and y2ksupply sites, as an example of its consistent inaccuracy, quotes our ZD Net/Harris survey out of context, saying that it shows 20 percent of people will withdraw all of their cash from the bank before 2000. In fact, if you look at our coverage, we explained that the survey was based on replies from self-selected respondents and should not in any way be used to make judgements about the larger population. But, the y2ksupply version of our article serves the purpose of scaring people into spending money on Year 2000 supplies, so it is presented as a Biblical truth.
