Question for anyone:

Why would Iran help smuggle oil out of Iraq??

I would think that it would be in the best interest of Iran to blow up Iraq's Southern pipeline and make it look like it was us Americans who did it. I would also think that after the Iran/Iraq war the Iranians have no sympathy with Sadaam and in fact would do everything in their power to topple his regime so that they could have more power/influence in the Gulf.

Looks like someone is taking those rumors of an HAL-SLB merger seriously. These stocks are acting much better than the OSX. If the big boys get together, pressure on smaller players to merge will escalate exponentially. That could trigger some real fireworks next year regardless of the oil price.
