Why don't you join us in the courteous convention of having something to say instead of constantly harping on the occasional inadvertent transgressions of others. I noticed that you even went so far as to post OT items on the news and analysis thread. Your vigilantiism is wearing thin.

In case you have forgotten, whenever financial information about Dell is publish I issue exhaustive analysis on it. I was the one that initially demonstrated that Kumar was incorrect in his comments about desktop growth. I was the one that raised the issue of abuse of employee stock options and repricing. I was the one who analyzed the trajectory of convergence of growth of the industry and Dell's growth What have you done that makes you arbiter of what is published and what is not?

I don't think I need to apologize for my contributions to this thread. What are the contributions you have made to this thread?

If the foo shits, wear it.

<<<<Nearly everyone else puts "OT" on their "OFF TOPIC" posts.>>>
I have read perhaps 98% of the Dell posts since early 1997(too much time on hands)Haha
Whether a post is marked OT or not is of less importance than the character of the poster.
Looking at the market only for this one day, and considering
what stocks the Dell posters are most interested in ((and talking about), the words have been very important to financial success which
seems rampant here.
Chuzz and Mohan have been very important contributors.
With the increasing number of SI members and posts in Dell and other stocks, it is more difficult to drive by any SI thread and get
a true reading of the thread members opinions on the specific stock.
But it is after all,a "Dell" thread and not, for example, a daytraders thread
Dell seems (to me) to be a rather self-policing thread. (Just try
being a bear here)Hehe.
Policing the thread will be difficult. As Jules Verne noted, each
improved gun will be met with thicker armor, which calls for a bigger gun, which calls for thicker armor,
Holding Dell long term in tough times is much easier when members(as Venkie noted) support each other even if its off-topic discussion..
It is entirely appropriate and human for members to go absolutely ape in postings when a stock split is declared or blow-away earnings are announced( both of those will happen again next year)G
And as you noted, most OT posts are so designated.
Summary:
I don't see a major problem yet.
