That is correct, although the news release said "on or about Jan 4"

In any case, Jan 4 is the first trading day of the year, and it's going to be the biggest drop in the stock market's history. It's the first day you can sell your overpriced stocks with a huge profit and put off paying taxes until the year 2000. I wont go into specifics, but I am investing most of my net worth in puts towards the end of december in a broad range of stocks- focusing mainly only technology stocks which have enjoyed insane runups over the last 4 months.
