211 Republicans voting for impeachment; 5 leaning towards a "Yes" vote and 6 are undecided.

Number of votes needed to impeach -- 217 (as two Democratic Representatives will not be present).

It is important that the Republicans reach the figure of 217 all by themselves (and looks like they will). Will underscore the utter partisan nature of the voting...

On to the Senate, now! I hope that all 4 articles will pass! Purely on the basis of a partisan vote for every one of the articles...

Relax, Robert! The Republicans are being handed a long rope, and they are hanging themselves with it! It is silly to PO vast sections of the electorate in order to pander to the rabid demands of an increasingly bloodthirsty (and gradually shrinking) extreme faction.

Of course, they won't know all this until well after the next elections! After their ship runs aground, watch for oodles of "post-mortem" sessions on radio, TV and elsewhere...

<<<<Reasonable doubt question number 2: It is a consensus of opinion that if Clinton was put on trial for perjury and obstruction of justice, after he left office, it would be almost impossible to get a conviction.>>>>

Doofus. Whose opinion? The Democrat Central Committee? Now you know why public opinion doesn't matter where the application of law is concerned. I tell you what. If a crime is ever committed against your person be sure you don't call the police but rather enlist the use of a polling agency first.

<<<How can we throw a President out of office for something that is not clearly impeachable, and for something for which they could not get a conviction in a court of law?>>>

He was never tried for perjury and you don't know if he would be convicted or not. That's the nature of the process. You never know what's going to happen until the case is presented. Now keep gazing into your crystal ball Merlin.
