The Senators will not be prohibited from talking outside the
proceedings and will be considering actions to take on a motion to adjourn the proceedings. Before that there can be procedural issues dealing with validity of the impeachment of the 105th congress to be tried in the 106th - actions not implemented by close of session may be ruled null. So its possible to go 'round again to the House.
Otherwise, without a premature adjournment, it would be 2-3 months I suppose, at least.

Greg

Re: " ..This week was incredible..." & Greenspan-

The week is not over. Speaker-elect Livingston just said he would not accept the position & will eventually resign from the House.

You make a good point about not having a 2/3 vote in the Senate - at this time. The momentum of the situation may take on a life of its own. Livingston has called for Clinton's resignation. That pressure could continue to mount.

So far the markets have not reacted much to the impeachment & Iraq bombing. The post-bombing policy remains to be seen, also.

Justa,

>>>
This week was incredible as far as the markets are concerned. Makes you want to have war and impeachment every day of the week!
>>>
I think people are jumping to conclusions about the trial in the senate. You make excellent points about the procedure being much different from what we see now.

Americans love a soap opera, at least me and the Mary Kay girls do. This will have it all.

1. Power
2. Sex(at least by some peoples' definition)
3. Money

This trial may be the only time the people actually learn the facts. Perceptions may change.
