Tim, I posted on the RNTK RagingBull thread a while back (around late Sept or Oct) when the market was reaching it's low's and stated that I saw Dow 6500. Well, to my surprise, Mr. Fix Everything (Greenspan) decided to cut interest rates (not once, but twice!!) and in fact, saved the market. I also stated at that time that I was going to start looking for any cheap oil company with HUGE U.S. (or even Canada) oil reserves. People thought I was nuts at the time. How about now?

The answer to your question just may be yes.

As we all know, this market is very volatile. Kind of strange, but I was watching Bloomberg TV and they interviewed people on the streets about the market. They really didn't care what was going on. I wonder if they would care if Saddam gassed Israel? That is what's scary to me. People are running around blind right now.

Money and greed makes people do strange things. Who do you think Russia is backing right now? Or China for that matter? While all of the sudden are these countries who were backing us in November suddenly switching sides?

I really hope this market can continue it's run, but I am skeptical at this point.

JR

boy- if markets opened on weekends we would all be in serious trouble :)

AUD is my 'tip' for Monday.. Lots of plays like this in the last few weeks.. MALL and UBID still trade well. Just something good to play if the market pulls back... I dunno tho, it looks like the bulls are 100% in control.. but im all cash myself...

Tim, get a grip. What's the matter, you have too much idle time tonight or something? If there was any fear, the markets are the first to show it. Any seasoned investor knows that. Markets scare easily. Sadaam knows that all he has to do is make one offensive move and you may never know Iraq as a country again. Israel, the US, Britain, etc. would love an excuse to put him out of his misery once and for all.

In my opinion, this bombing will be more of a final resolution that the markets will look positive on. That is why we have been heading higher. This problem with Iraq may be cleared up once and for all.

Tim, the Globex futures have been down every evening this past week ... only to turn positive before the open ... with weaknesses in stock prices met be buying. Wall street is in party mood (AMZN - 400 in 5 years ... MU 200 in 3 years ... positive comments Friday about CPQ, DELL, INTEL .....) & they want to carry this momentum through to year end ... when the money on the sidelines will then be put to work.

By all means fight the tape if you want to - but if the current news isn't fazing anyone, then one needs to go with the flow.

I also realise you are all cash and would like a down-market ... but if you got one what would you do .... guess what .. buy stocks ... and the price would go up. Anyone who's waiting for a 10% correction in the premier stocks is fighting the tape. For many people that have already gained more than that .... they are probably laughing at the idea and saying 'so what'.

Lets face it ... we don't know if the markets going up or down on any particular date ... but the tape says up .... so choose carefully and ride out any down day imho.

Good luck all

Stephen
