Liam -
Apparently the top tier bonuses have been moved into some time in 2nd quarter of '99, but lower level employees will get profit sharing for 2nd half of 98, and customer satisfaction bonus. There will be NO 4Q executive bonuses, according to several mid-level managers I spoke with - they claim that they have known about this since early this year, and everyone is focused on getting financial performance up through 1Q99. I think this is prudent given the need to have a strong 4Q and 1Q picture, and keeps people focused on building profitability.

I don't know how such things are calculated but I would assume that executive bonuses would have been pretty lean given CPQ's performance in '98 anyway. None of the people I talked to seemed particularly concerned, they regarded it as just part of pulling for the company and are looking to '99.

It's a darn shame what's happened to CSCO <G!> - the value of my position has more than doubled since early october. A few more points and I'll be able to say the same about CPQ.... that chart is really impressive.
