The trading this morning was strange. I placed a limit order at the ask with Schwab, and got an autoexecute partial fill. After that, only smaller trades, in the 100-400 share range went off, and I wasn't filled for 8 minutes. I called Schwab and was told that they have the autoexecute system for a maximum number of shares and the rest goes out the the exchange. The excuse was that there wasn't enough volume available, they were working my order, and there were people ahead of me for the smaller trades. I cancelled, reordered after about 15 minutes and got another partial fill by autoex. Figured, I'd stop at that point.

This seems to indicate one of two things. Either there aren't many eager sellers out there, or Schwab's pretty lame. Thoughts?
