I think the Republicans want to make you free. They want to make government smaller, more local and more responsive. They want it to perform the functions government should perform (fire, police, military, etc..) and not take the big brother approach to socially engineer our society by taxing and spending to manipulate society. The democrats want to create and maintain a constituency that are economic slaves to the government. It seems to me that, on balance, most people who like the democrat philosophy are either people who want something from the government or work for the government. The Republican philosophy is to create a level playing field and let people, through initiative and effort, rise to the highest level they possibly can. The Republicans believe in us and believe if they will stay out of our way, tax as little as possible, create a level playing field then each of us can pursue the American dream unencumbered with excessive taxation, regulation, and manipulation. When that dream is removed and people look to the government for their survival and needs they are only degrees from the socialist or even communist ideals. From each according to his ability and to each according to his needs. Sounds good but the downside of that is that productivity goes down the drain. The producers lose initiative and the non producers don't produce but expect government intervention to take care of their needs. In my opinion, if Bill Clinton really put America first he would step aside just based on what he has admitted and what it is doing to our country. The country is bigger than him and would work just fine if he would resign. The only possible reasons he wants to stay are selfish reasons (Power, etc.).

Believe me I am not a sheep. With all the BS going on I would vote for Ross Perot before a Republican. So let me say this now:"The working man is being raped!!! By political puppets pulled by a string. The string being money.....if you fall for this whole crap then you deserve to be broke....Myself if they impeach Clinton, I will fight the you no what's through the next election.

Dear Crazy,

Thanks for sharing your insanity and being true to your name. Remember, just being old ain't an excuse for being stupid so you're right to stress your other "attribute" when labelling yourself. I guess you blame FDR for killing 2,000,000 in Europe and Truman for being the mad atomic bomber. How about the millions Kennedy and Johnson are responsible for in SE Asia?

Reagan ended the Cold War successfully, saving US the billions that has helped the Republicans in Congress balance the budget - something they forced on the recalcitrant perjurer.

Reagan is credited with saving Central America. By whom? Just the people who now live there in relative freedom. The people who endorsed Reagan's policy by voting the totalitarian Left out of power when all the Left thought for sure that they would win.

Remember, history has shown that the ideological Left was wrong at every turn in Central America and only they can take the blame for most of the deaths there.

With all due respect, if you think this impeachment charade is about lying under oath you are a sheep sought by the far right.

It is not a charade. It is a fact that Clinton will be impeached and probably removed from office by the Senate. The far right has no more to do with this than Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Those are the facts, not a charade.

I'm from a few miles of Clinton, and I am NOT a great Clinton lover (though I greatly admire some of his work),

His "work"? What "work"? The only "work" he has done is campaign for his ego. The guy spends the day golfing, vacationing, partying with the beautiful people, getting BJs from employees, and raising funds. He certainly doesn't "work"!

...but I have watched him harrassed from the moment people began to hear his name. The Republicans went for the born-agains in the late seventies, and we all know it had nothing to do with religion. It's just part of the story. Get people self-righteous enough, etc. and blah blah blah.

Stereotypical republican bash drivel. Absolute nonsense that has nothing to do with Clinton's crimes.

I am unspeakably embarrassed, not just at what's happening but at the way people are still falling for the whole thing.

You ought to be. Your president has embarrassed this country nearly beyond repair.

The Far Right is out to save our souls.

More useless hyperbole. It is no wonder that journalist has sunk to the depths of least respected professions (right beside used car dealers) with the likes of you among their ranks.
