Perry,

I've always felt that the issue of technical superiority went right to the heart of 2G product positioning. Afterall, the W-CDMA PR campaign has the world believing that only they are capable of designing the most efficient, cost effective, elegently upgradeable, GSMcentric, CDMA system in the world. And if you are a GSM operator you need not bother to look at IS-95 or even CDMA-2000. Somehow I wish we could do more to get the word out to the operators themselves what the truth is. The weirdest thing is that I've read the proposals, I know something about the systems and problems and there is a lot to talk about. Yet, I see almost a daily barrage of articles written mostly by people who don't understand the technology, heavily biased against IS-95 and CDMA-2000.

As you know the spin is intense. But, I am encouraged by recent events as we near the end of this year. And your words as well.

Many Thanks

Walt
