To the thread:
I want to take this opportunity to humbly apologize to Dr. Martin Frankel, Rich, and the thread in general for my behavior a month ago. While I apologized to Dr. Frankel a few days/week ago, it was via PM. Rich and I have had our heated words, and to both of you I ask the gift of forgiveness. I shall and cannot make any excuses: I was wrong.
Over the past few weeks, I have developed ongoing relationships with many thread members via PM and on the thread itself. I truly look forward to reading your posts and thoughtful insights daily. It is a rare moment when a post from Bald Eagle doesn't bring a laugh to my heart, providing levity that is needed in any business or personal environment. Mr. Longacre has proven himself a true gentlemen and scholar in his posts and in our private discussions. REW is a bastion of moral support and serves as an excellent example of a dedicated and intelligent investor. Both Dr. Frankel's and Rich's contributions are truly inspiring. Finally, a special thank you to Steve and Tim for your friendships and always kind PM's.
I will be gone with the love of my life to Chicago for the next week, and will miss reading the thread and watching as TSIG continues to develop. We began dating almost one year ago, and she has taught me the greatest of life's secrets: love, trust, faith, loyalty, and comfort.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all for your efforts and insights during the last six months I have been invested in TSIG and involved with this thread. I hope during your holidays you find happiness and love--of life, of another, and of the simple gifts we often take for granted. I think of an older gentleman diagnosed with terminal metastasized cancer. Ravaged by his disease, and given only days or possibly weeks to live, he shared with me his Christmas wish: to live to see his family together on his last Christmas day. Yet, he quickly added, that if his final wish was unattainable, he would nonetheless die a happy and content man, having shared 62 years with his "more beautiful than ever wife," having seen his children grow into loving, whole adults, and being called "Papa" by the next generation of the legacy he created. In his words, "I can ask or want for nothing more." Life is a truly precious gift. A lesson for us all: to work diligently to create and share a life so one day we can awaken in the morning to realize all of our important dreams have come true, that "we can ask or want for nothing more."
I have four challenges for each and every one of you before we end this year:
1. Tell someone you love them, and mean it.
2. Tell someone you appreciate them, and mean it.
3. Give a gift, of time and/or money, to someone less fortunate. One of my favorite quotes: "This is the final test of a gentleman: his respect for those who can be of no possible value to him" --William Lyon Phelps.
4. Arise one morning and watch the sun rise, wait for the birds to start their songs, take a deep breath of fresh air (if available), and know peace.

My very best to you and your families as we end this remarkable year, the best of my life.
Eric
