Sean,

...painful task...

Gee, I was feeling almost competent after getting what feels like a stable OS build on Win98 with 4 vidcards/monitors and 3 additional cards (all slots and most external connectors full). Of course that is what is great about technology and/or the capital markets: humility is always waiting for you just around the bend. <g>

If NT Workstation4.0 can't build a thin client, then I guess I'm just not packing the right firepower for this task. While I haven't surrendered completely to NT Workstation, I will admit medium term defeat on the thin MS client painful NT server NDIS ODI configuration thingy. Out of curiosity mostly, as I won't be attempting this at home folks, what is MS SMS? My usual acronym sense has failed me, my guesses are just progressively absurd.

The message I will take from this is that while it is possible, for me it is a bridge too far. At least at this point in time.

Thanks, Paul

*Voice Recognition Software For Old People*? ~ Hi thread. Help! My dad is 80 and basically heathy, but his hands hurt. He likes to e-mail, and asked me if I would get recommendations on voice recognition software. He only wants to dictate papers; word process; not really anything else. He's no techno-whiz, but others are there who could help with installation. Something straightforward, usable and reliable?

Probable specs:

120 mhz Pent
1.6 gig hd; 50% full
16 ram (can add if necc)
yadda
yadda.

Any suggestions, anyone?

Thank you very much.

PS: Maybe he will dictate changes in his will, and include me.
